Peony Pride
It takes peonies about three years to take hold after being transplanted. This is the third year for these guys and they seem to like Atlanta despite the drought.
It doesn't take much to excite old people!

Brothers Being Brothers
Here are a couple of videos taken near the Hooch.
The audio of the second one has some comments
from Reid and Mary Helen as they identify living
vs. non-living things.

"Rocky"
Hooch Redux
On Sunday, April 20, Grandma and Granddaddy took the boys to the Chattahoochee River for an outing. Reid had been the previous week and really liked it. The day was perfect for an outing like this.
They love playing in the water. The river is very shallow at this point but we still have to watch them closely. Look at the back of Hayes' pants in the picture below, for example!
Georgia Aquarium
On Saturday, April 19, Grandma and Granddaddy took Reid and Hayes to the Georgia Aquarium. Reid is an old hand at this but Hayes had never been before. As you can see in the pictures, he loved it! In the picture above, you can see three whale sharks, Reid's favorite. The original four whale sharks were named Ralph, Alice, Norton and Trixie. Some of you old timers might recognize those names.
Reid likes to identify the fish he is seeing.

Just Some Cute "Jammy" Pictures
More Water Adventures
Another spring break activity (or "Travels with Grandma") involved water. A local landscaping nursury has some great things for kids to see. They have ponds with turtles and fish like you see here. They have an outdoor model electric train. They have lots of birds inside, some of which can talk. And they have a popcorn machine with lots of free popcorn. What else do you need? And, we actually buy something now and then!
Like the trip along the Hooch, Reid became curious with the ponds and got closer and closer and, yep, he fell in. Another trip home stripped down to his underwear with more stories to tell Mom.
Hosing Off the Hooch!
Last week was spring break for Reid so he and his grandma spent one morning walking along the Chattahoochee River. Well, one little step into the muddy shallows led to another and soon Reid was having the time of his life. There were so many new sights, sounds, smells and textures for him to absorb. He loved pulling up rocks, roots, mud and other things just to check them out.
So, after riding home in his underwear, it was time for him to be hosed down. He didn't care much for the cold water!
